Planning for the Next Chapter
For the last few years, I have been working with the Board of Directors of Colorado Lending Source on a succession plan that would allow me to leave the organization on 09/30/2020, the date of my twentieth anniversary with one of the most amazing organizations in the world.
At our annual meeting in January of this year, I publicly announced my plans to depart at the end of September and now that the Board’s selection committee is preparing to post a position description to the wider community, it is appropriate that I communicate the news to the broader network of Colorado Lending Source friends and supporters.
I have had the privilege of serving Colorado Lending Source through almost two decades of organizational growth, charting a course as the largest SBA lender in the state of Colorado from three employees in late 2000 to some thirty-four today. And I’ve enjoyed the opportunity of knowing and working with thousands of businesses over the years, meeting so many amazing entrepreneurs and their supporters in Colorado, the most entrepreneurial state in the nation.
I must admit I wasn’t planning for my last year to coincide with the worst pandemic since the 1968/69 H3N2 flu, and the likely beginnings of a more severe depression than the Global Financial Crisis of 2007/09, BUT the future is nonetheless exciting and Colorado Lending Source is in a very strong position to weather all the challenges that 2020 throws at it.
As the economy begins to rebound in Q3, I look forward to passing the baton to the next person to enjoy the pleasure of serving this awesome organization with its incredible staff, whose task it will be to chart the next chapter in the great history of this organization.
Thank you so much for letting me be part of Colorado Lending Source for almost two score years. And although I still have much to accomplish before I depart, I do want to let you know that it has been so much fun!!
