Denver Startup Week 2019 is a Wrap!

Yet another successful year has come to an end... and we definitely have the post startup week blues. But we can rest assured that our impact was once again far reaching across Denver and beyond! Created for the community by the community, here are some highlights from the week...

And as the Maker Track Sponsor for the third consecutive year, we are proud of the impact that our 30+ sessions had on the entrepreneurial community. The Maker Track encompasses all physical products and provides entrepreneurs and small business owners with education and resources from outdoor rec, distilling (or brewing!), crafting, and main street businesses to connected devices, manufacturing, 3D printing, and IoT, just to name a few. Here's how Colorado Lending Source contributed to the week...

Additionally, we asked our staff to share their key takeaways. Here's what they had to say...

"I attended the Lindsey Vonn fireside chat and was inspired by her 'why'. She talked about women with confidence and how her confidence came from her father's influence at an early age... that women can still be beautiful and successful and own a business. Her message resonated with me and I walked away feeling inspired by her story."
~ Karen Anderson, Senior Portfolio Management Officer

"This was the first year that I attended the Physical Product Showcase. I was thrilled to see some of our borrowers and Ice House graduates, like Rebel Bread and Do Sauce, representing their products. The venue and energy from attendees and vendors were incredibly unique and I loved interacting with the business owners!"
~ ViLinh Lu, Senior Portfolio Management Officer

"The Kickoff Event was absolutely fabulous! We heard from Co-founders and Co-CEO's of theSkimm, Danielle Weisberg and Carly Zakin, and Co-founders of Dazbog Coffee, Anatoly and Leonid Yuffa. But the speaker that resonated with me the most was Emily Schromm, fitness guru, podcaster and inventor of the EmPack & EmFit Challenge. Emily was down-to-earth and authentic, which made me motivated by her message. She highlighted the challenges of being an entrepreneur and it was refreshing to hear how she was able to grow her business as a result of being inspired by previous Denver Startup Weeks with events she attended in the Maker Track."
~ Sarah Moran, Loan Officer

"I attended an event held at Colorado Lending Source about equity. It was fascinating to hear about the changing landscape of VC funding with how valuation methods are evolving. Specifically, this panel focused on what impact investors look for in a business, which is much different from the traditional VC model. With the Colorado Main Street loan program growing, it was exciting to hear about how impact investing is gaining popularity. The information discussed was incredibly informative and valuable for socially-focused entrepreneurs!"
