Colorado Lending Source | Jul. 13, 2018

Over it’s 25-year history spanning until 2016, Colorado Lending Source had diversified its programs, creating more options for small businesses and entrepreneurs to attain financing and receive support. There was no denying that the mission of fostering the economic growth of diverse small businesses was the impetus behind everything Colorado Lending Source did, but the question of how it was done remained.

In 2016, Colorado Lending Source’s leadership team embarked on a collective journey to answer how the staff worked together internally, as well as how they worked with small business owners and lenders. By diving deep into their sentiments behind the mission, the leadership team was able to identify five values as the foundation of the organization’s culture that provides a framework for everything they do today.

 Colorado Lending Source’s Values are:

·      Advance the Mission

·      Enjoy Your Work

·      Collaborate Openly

·      Support Each Other

·      Take Responsibility

These values were presented to the Board of Directors for approval, and then to Colorado Lending Source’s staff. Each day our staff comes to work with the intention of living these values and is committed not only to their borrowers’ and partners’ success, but to the success of each other. Accordingly, Colorado Lending Source admires small businesses that are devoted to their values, and is especially excited to help entrepreneurs whose values are in-line with their own.

One of those businesses is Sample Supports. Mark and Carmen Sample established the business in 2010 with the vision of creating a unique service agency focused on helping adults and youth with developmental disabilities. The organization has evolved over the years from providing care programs to employment opportunities for these individuals as well.

Samples World Bistro is one of the most recent additions. This full-scale restaurant in Longmont, Colorado came to fruition when Mark merged his love for food and experience as a brewer with his passion for helping persons with disabilities. The restaurant features 28 beers on tap, focuses on international cuisine and employees 50 adults. The atmosphere is welcoming, and diners leave with satisfied taste buds and a fulfilled heart.

In 2016 Mark and Carmen worked with Colorado Lending Source to secure a Small Business Administration 504 loan to finance the purchase and renovation of commercial real estate for Samples World Bistro.
