Mike O'Donnell

Mike O'Donnell, Executive Director:
cell phone: 720-255-4091

Mike has an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne. He is a 6 foot tall biped and former native of Australia. Unlike Romulus and Remus, rumor has it that he was raised by a tribe of kangaroos in the bush although this has not been verified by any reputable sources who don't have masses of facial hair.

Prior to entering the 504 industry in the mid 90’s, Mike was (in chronological order) the SBDC/SBI director at the University of Kansas (KU), had his own small business consulting firm, and, helped create the KU international trade business resource center. Mike enjoys fresh air, the great outdoors, running, reading, designing and making all his own clothes, dressing up as Ned Kelly (but only on weekends), Captain Kirk (week nights), "koala bears at bedtime" (a book), budgies, business ventures with Poll Hereford bulls and people who send e-mails pretending to be widows of obscure African dictators, making fun of things made in China, staring at wooden doorknobs, straining fences, tracking the migration patterns of tumbleweeds across eastern Colorado (the subject of a new and exciting upcoming Discovery channel series) and, chugging glasses of organic milk. A one-time "contender" and oftentimes pretender, Mike now-a-days roams around the Colorado Lending Source office muttering “ eventus stultorum magister” and challenging people to name the state bird of Colorado and then sing the state song while standing on one leg, rotating clockwise, rubbing their stomach and patting their heads.

Aside from watching endless episodes of “Doctor Who" (he likes the new Doctor best but always has a soft spot for Daleks, who one day might win) Mike’s musical tastes range from Redgum to the Bushwackers, Chieftans, Enya and Warren Zevon, and probably back again, ad nauseum. Mike was the SBA’s 2006 Financial Services Champion of the Year for Region VIII, a six state region, which has nothing whatsoever to do with this biography because it is mostly true (the award, not the biography).
