Karen is a 2006 addition to the professional Colorado Lending Source team. A long time resident of Colorado, Karen holds a BS from CSU (“summa cum laude” and “gaudet tentamine virtus”) with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Synthetic Biology.

Prior to joining CLS, Karen spent four years as a loan officer with a highly esteemed Colorado-based lending institution, where she developed strong leadership, organizational and communication skills. A keen student of amphibians, Karen maintains in her quiet, suburban, unassuming, backyard tool shed, one of the most extensive frog collections to be found in Colorado, with more than 42,045 catalogued specimens from six continents, 98 countries and 43 states. The collection includes, of course, Bufonidae, Dendrobatidae, Hylidae, Manteliidae and Ranidae families, and includes representative members from all 17 of the species that can be found in Colorado. The pride of her collection is a Phyllobates bicolor recently renamed (after an accident with a bunsen burner) “Doctor Smock” which is reportedly much sought after by rogue and less reputable primate collectors throughout the Middle East, especially those from the oil-rich countries bordering the no-flies zone near Iraq, who covert and seek Dr. Smock for ill-gotten gains.

Karen’s musical tastes include Froggy Frog, Modest Mouse, Crazy Frog, Big Frog, Mickey the Frog, Maroon Three Thousand, Frog Legs, Sven's Ten, and, not unnaturally, The Wiggles (although Charles Darwin would have had trouble predicting the evolution of the Wiggles) (A final postscript, Karen is so devoted to the Wiggles, she has twice made a pilgrimage to the Wiggly Play Center in Frisco Texas, where she is a lifetime member of both the Wake Up Jeff Wiggle and Dorothy the Dinosaur fan-clubs.)
