Nicole Christianson

Nicole Christianson, Loan Officer / Closing Officer, Special Markets

A 2007 addition to the CLS staff, Nicole holds a BS in Business Administration from CU Boulder, with a major emphasis on finance and minors in forensics, French, forecasting, framing and phonetics. Before joining CLS Nicole had three plus years of professional experience with a major commercial insurance firm, most recently as an account manager in their diversified markets unit. A very capable analyst, negotiator, communicator, time manager, soothsayer and astrologer, Nicole adds both strength and depth to the expanding and multi-lingual CLS special markets division.

In addition to a busy life in a fast-paced world, and a part time gig as a costumed super-hero. Nicole takes time each day to enjoy her true passion of apiculture. From a secluded spot high on the rooftop loft of her apartment building, Nicole maintains an extensive honeycomb of wooden hives, populated by multiple swarms of western honey bees. Rather than just harvesting honey, Nicole prefers to gather royal jelly and propolis, both of which she sells at exorbitant prices to Whole Foods and Hugo Chavez of the once prosperous state of Venezuela (no relation). The arrival of tracheal mites in the 1980’s and varroa mites and small hive beetles in the 1990’s led to the widespread decimation of hobbyist beekeeping in the US, which is a pity, as this is when Nicole was really hitting her strides. Nicole is doing her part to re-introduce this valuable member of our ecological community and will often, in the office, empathetically walk around wearing her hooded bee suit, hat and veil. When questioned, she will first buzz a little then politely suggest that the owner of the question mind his or her own beeswax.

Nicole’s musical tastes include Anji Bee, Emm Bee, Dee Bee, Celi Bee, The Bee Gees, King Bee, Robby Bee, and, The Hornets. Nicole only reads the Sacramento Bee and likes to make buzzing noises with bus tickets (or play her kazoo).
